Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are on the frontline of the COVID-19 outbreak. Shangri-La's nearly 300 essential workers are risking their own health daily to provide critical support to people with disabilities. DSPs don't have the option to work from home and we can't afford to have them stop showing up for the individuals they serve.
On June 10, Shangri-La took time to celebrate and thank these essential workers with Appreciation Drive-Ins. Team members sidewalk chalked positive messages and placed colorful pinwheels at each home. Each home also received a box of otter pops with a tag that read "We thought you otter know we are thinking about you!".
SEND DSP FAN MAIL Send some appreciation/thanks/encouragement to Shangri-La's DSPs by dropping some fan mail (card, postcard, coloring, inspirational quote, etc.) in the mail. We will scan and email everything received to our DSP team so they can feel the love in programs from Salem to Eugene and Newport to Florence.
