ON THE PATH To Self-Sufficiency

Helping parents identify and overcome barriers to employment while setting a course towards greater self-dependence and stability.

Youth and family services 

Shangri-La's Youth and Family Services works with parents receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) enrolled in the ODHS Jobs Opportunity and Basic Skills (JOBS) Program.

Supports are aimed helping parents overcome barriers to employment and achieve greater self-sufficiency (i.e., reduce their reliance on government assistance).  

​

Job Readiness

Training to help prepare for the competitive job market and obtaining employment. 

​

Work Experience

Meaningful paid and unpaid work experience opportunities for JOBS Plus participants to help​ learn new skills and experience real work environments.

Teen Parent Program 

Services to help teen parents complete high school or obtain their GED.

​

Youth Career Exploration 

Works with non-parenting teens (teens without children) ages 16-18 and parenting teens/young adults (teens/youth who have their own children) ages 16-24.

​

Locations

ODHS Offices in Marion, Polk, and Yamhill counties.

​

Eligibility

Must be a ODHS JOBS Program participant and be referred to services by a ODHS case manager. 

​

Services can be provided in Spanish.
